Boat Detailing & Cleaning — Questions & Answers
How often should I have my boat detailed in South Florida?+
We typically recommend full detailing every 3-4 months for boats regularly used in salt water. The combination of salt spray, UV exposure, and humidity accelerates wear on all surfaces. Boats kept in covered slips may stretch this to twice yearly, while those in open slips or used frequently benefit from quarterly service.
Do you clean boats in the water or do they need to be hauled out?+
We can perform most detailing services while your boat remains in the slip, including deck cleaning, interior work, and above-waterline hull cleaning. For complete hull cleaning including the bottom, we'll need your boat hauled out. We coordinate with local boatyards to minimize your downtime and costs.
What's included in a full boat detailing service?+
Complete detailing covers hull washing and polishing, deck cleaning and protection, interior cleaning of all surfaces including upholstery and carpeting, metal polishing, canvas cleaning, and engine compartment cleaning. We also clean and treat all vinyl, apply UV protectants, and detail the cockpit and helm areas.
Can you remove stubborn stains and oxidation from my gel coat?+
Most gel coat oxidation and staining can be successfully removed through our multi-step process using marine-grade compounds and polishes. We assess each situation individually and will let you know upfront what level of restoration is realistic. Severe cases may require additional time but we've had excellent success restoring boats that owners thought were beyond help.
Do you provide any protection against future damage from salt and sun?+
Absolutely—protection is a key part of our process. We apply marine-grade waxes and sealants to gel coat surfaces, UV protectants to all vinyl and canvas, and corrosion inhibitors to metal components. These treatments are specifically chosen for South Florida's harsh conditions and will extend the time between detailed cleanings.
